Interview With Tara Mi Sioux by Cary Tara Mi Sioux not only has the coolest name ever, she's also a globe trotting pinup model and burlesque performer. Classic pinup has become a huge phenomena lately, what about it captures your interest? Even as a kid everything about the pinup era would give me a nostalgic feeling. the sound of the music, the smell of dusty records and clothes, it calms me.
What do you think about pinup and fetish becoming part of the mainstream culture? Is it mainstream now? I think so many subcultures influence mainstream culture.
What is it that excites you about pinup modeling? I will have hot pictures of myself when I'm an old geezer.
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in? Anything new excites me, I don't want to show up to a shoot that I've already done before.
What are your least favorites? Anything with boots.
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into? I'm old fashioned.
Are there any other creative mediums you work in? I am a burlesque performer, I make my own costumes, I like to be crafty.
What kind of music do you like? Growing up I was in the punk scene, that's what I listen to the most. Stuff like Cocksparrer, The Saints, and Stiff Little Fingers. I have a wide range beyond that I enjoy listening to, oldies like Andrew Sisters and Perez Prado, old country like Hank Williams and Jimmie Rodgers, and like most girls I like listening to French singers.
What do you like to do for fun? Travel, and I am moving to Sweden in 3 days! I will be traveling all over Europe. Like I said I also like to be crafty, usually making burlesque costumes, and hanging out with my dog Darby is one of my favorite things in the world.
