Interview With So Ladycat

What music first captured your ear and got you interested in music?
There’s not really any kind of music in which I have been interested. Thing that happened is when I was 16 years old, someday, I took a pen and I found the way to write all my feelings which were hurting me on the moment... So, then, as some melodies came in my head in same time, I’ve decided that I will write songs and that I will sing them!
You have to understand that music isn’t the essential part of my work... I mean, there would be not music if there were not poetries, and there would be not poetries if there were not pics, and then, no pics without music, you seen what I mean? It’s an universe.
About music I like, there’s no really any style, the essential to me is beauty and emotion. Of course there are some artists that I really appreciate to listen.
Do you come from a background of training in the arts?
Gosh, nope! I have no one training, in anything! It’s against my freedom!
I prefer learn by myself... If someone teaches me, I don’t understand anything! Time, passion and emotion, hear the good words...
When I had the chance to leave school, I did it! Because who cares about all they teach us? I prefer take a book, listen to some music, explore my own world, to find a kind of interest.
I don’t really think that a poet-writer needs any training, a singer, yes, maybe... But I don’t see myself as a singer, I’m a lady who recites her rhymes with melody.
How did you start working with your current band?
I “make” music since I’m 16 years old. Well, make is a big word, fake by the way, as I’m not a musician. I work with a musician-producer. For my song A l’Orée, for example, I just needed to sing it to him, as I have the melody in my head, and he played it on his keyboard.
For the rest, as we make many covers, I just tell him what song I would like to play, and we work on!
I have many bad experience regarding work in professional studio, but with this person, it works (at least, it has worked!) But I’m still looking for the good soul to help me to make music.
Do you prefer playing live or recording?
RECORDING!!!!!!! Definitively! Anyway I didn’t play live a lot, maybe 2 or 3 times... You know, recording, as the song’s creation, is the perfect pleasure to me. Find the good word, then find the good instruments, the good music bubble to wrap words.... That is really exciting!
What excites you about fetish modeling?
“excite’ is not the good word, but what I like in this, as in pin up modeling, is the beauty that we can show on a picture... You know, a photoshoot can take 2 or 3 hours, but, on some seconds, you made the good pose, you gave the good emotion, and the picture is suddenly beautiful! That’s what I like.
Are there any other creative mediums you work in?
My principal art-work is the writing... I’ve just finished writing a book, I will try to find an editor this new year.
But you have to know that I am a lazy, lazy girl! So I do only what I need to do, and what I want to do, of course! So when I really need to say something, with my words, music, or image, I do it, but I will never do MANY things just to make more and more work to get more.... success, is that the word?
What do you like to do for fun?
The word fun doesn’t exist to me ;) But if we are talking about pleasure, well, basics things, as read a book with some music in my bubble, cherish my cats, write and create, and, well, I must confess that I am very greedy, so I always like to enjoy a good dinner, and I also cook , mostly cakes, mmmhh!!!!!
