Interview With RunAround Sue

Normally you're supposed to keep away from RunAround Sue, but in this case I'll make an exception! :)

Classic pinup has become a huge phenomena lately, what about it first captured your interest?

I was raised by father who was a chief in the Navy... so, my whole childhood was spent hanging on the front lawn with sailors drinking beer and playing cards. I can't even remember the first time I saw a pinup picture, but I do have a very early memory of my Uncle Jimmy making the mermaid on his forearm dance. So, pin-up didn't so much capture my interest but more so - was a major part of my upbringing.

What do you think about pinup becoming part of the mainstream culture?

I think our culture pushed sexuality so far, that people began to fall in love again with a more coyish and playful form of the feminine mystique. I think we made so many things casual, that the idea of glamour became glamourous again. It's the constant swing of the pendulum....

What is it that excites you about pinup modeling?

I'm not so much a pin-up model as a burlesque dancer. Quite simply, I love being a woman and I love to smile.

Are there any other creative mediums you work in?

My primary medium is burlesque dancing. I also sing and play guitar.

What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?

I love corsets. I love fitted dresses. I've got curves and I love to show them off.

What are your least favorites?

If I'm working with a photographer I trust, I'll try to make anything work.

What kind of music do you like?

I LOVE Bob Dylan, Neil Young, the Velvet Underground - and Doo Wop, I cant get enough!

What do you like to do for fun?

I am a crackhead for chess. I love to drive for hours and hours... to get lost in a new city.
