How did you get started modeling?

I actually attended a high school for the arts where I studied music. I ended up making friends with some of the photography students and shot some stuff for fun. I didn't really think much of it at the time. A few months after I graduated, I started dating this really amazing graphic designer who I'd go take photos with so he could use them as a reference for his illustrations. We eventually called it quits but I put the pictures online and ended up getting some offers to shoot in Chicago. So I went and booked a few things and was hooked. I realized that I could use modeling as a means to travel, which is my first love, so I used it as an excuse to go everywhere I could.

What excites you about modeling?

There are so many things that excite me about modeling. I love meeting and collaborating with people of all different artistic experience and I love getting to collaborate with them to execute a vision and make something we can both be proud of. I have made friends with so many amazing talents in the last few years, some of them becoming very close to me. I have also had the opportunity to work with some well-known people, for which I feel incredibly blessed.

What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?

Anything, really. I can't think of anything I've ever had to wear that I didn't care for. I have a few designers I've modeled for that stand out as clothing I really look forward to shooting in when I know they're sending stuff though.

What kind of shoots would you like to work on in the future?

I'd actually like to do more shoots with more production value to them. More ornate, conceptual and intricate. I'd also really like to do more high fashion nude work. I''m a big fan of editorial/ European depictions of nudity. I've done a few shoots like this and have always loved the outcome and would definitely be into doing more.

Are there any other creative mediums you work in?

Several, actually. I am an extreme right brain creative type so I dabble a bit in everything, music and writing probably being the most prominent. I am actually classically trained in six instruments and self-taught at one. I sing, I write. It's something I've done since I was, like, 6 so it is just a natural form of expression to me.

What kind of music do you like?

That is such a loaded question! I love all kinds of music for different reasons. Lately I've been really into blues influenced bands like the Dead Weather (and really anything Jack White touches musically. I think he's a genius) and Calexico. I like music that pulls influences from the American Southwest. I think it's a really interesting sound. I'm also pretty into this whole "indie folk" thing going on: The Swell Season, Iron and Wine, etc. and I'm know to have a soft spot for electronic music. I suppose "electronic" is really just one giant umbrella term so let's just say that I like to dance :)

What do you like to do for fun?

Truthfully, this is my fun. Modeling, my artistic pursuits. It's what I love devoting my time to.

I also like watching movies, hanging with friends, dancing until all hours of the night, a little bit of partying here and there. Nothing really out of the ordinary.
