Interview With Nyxon
The President Of Fetish: Nyxon
by Cary
How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?
Haha, I've pretty much been a deviant one way or another my entire life. Having an interest in fetish/BDSM was most likely a natural progression, but I have been able to learn more about it & do a little experimenting through modeling. Modeling has definitely had a positive impact on my life.
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into?
I lightly dabbled here & there, of course. Whenever I started modeling, I was in a very vanilla relationship, so everything was pretty basic, if you know what I mean. However, since that ended, I've enjoyed being a little more experimental.
Are there any fetishes that you don't find appealing?
Well, of course.
What excites you about fetish modeling?
Well, everyday, or every shoot, I should say, is something different. I get to wake up, get dressed, and be creative & do amazing & fun things. I've met so many truly great people, that I may not have met otherwise, since I started modeling. Hands down, I feel that what I do totally beats going to a daily job, at least going to one full time. Plus, I'm getting to travel to places that I wouldn't have been able to visit if I weren't traveling there to model.
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?
I LOVE wearing vintage lingerie, ya know.... stockings, garters, bullet bras, girdles, and of course corsets make me melt. I just bought my first latex dress to wear at Fetishcon, and I have a feeling that latex will be a new favorite!
What are your least favorites?
It doesn't matter what my least favorites are. I'm getting paid to look a certain way & do a certain job, not to complain about wardrobe.
Do you think pinup and fetish are becoming part of the mainstream culture?
What do you mean becoming? They have been for many years now! High fashion has been heavily influenced by fetish for quite some time. It all goes back to Vivienne Westwood & Malcolm McLaren in the 70's, and Westwood still continues to create fetish inspired fashion & footwear. Take a look at other designers like McQueen, Gaultier, and very early Dior, for starters. Then, take a look at your local mall. I mean, anyone can go to the mall & purchase leather cuffs, punk bondage belts & bondage pants that were inspired by the clothing that McLaren & Westwood were producing in London in the 70's. Pin-ups, and I'm speaking purely of the mid-century kind, are everywhere as well now. I mean, if you go to any sort of rockabilly show/festival or car cruise, you'll see girls dressed like pin-ups walking around. The rockabilly & car club culture is more mainstream than ever now, and with that comes more girls dressing like pin-ups, doing pin-up style photoshoots, and everyone seems to be doing burlesque these days. Even the car mags(Ol' Skool Rods, CK DeLuxe) that you can buy at your local book store, are peppered with modern girls dressed as pin-ups.
What kind of music do you like?
I like to keep it rockin'. Some of my favorite bands include, the Dwarves, the Cramps, Turbonegro, Batmobile, Guana Batz, Ramones, Meteors, New York Dolls, the Clash, Sonics. I think you get the point.
What do you like to do for fun?
When I'm not traveling I usually try to catch up on my reading & also try to catch up with friends that I don't get to see too often.
