Classic pinup has become a huge phenomena lately, what about it first captured your interest?
I enjoy modeling since a young girl. I think as I got older I was fascinated with the Hollywood starlets . I remember seeing the old films from the 30's to 50's on TV, and the magazines with glamour models on it. I was intrigued with the thought of dressing up sexy and feminine and being a glamour girl . But Pinup is much classier then most Glamour magazines
What do you think about pinup becoming part of the mainstream culture?
I think it is jut as sexy as men magazines but cleaner, more tastefully done. Leaves more to the imagination. It is all about the allure and the tease. I think it should be mainstream as the market uses it for publicity and promotion.
What is it that excites you about pinup modeling?
Dressing up, taking on new identities or bringing out my own. Going deep into my own sensuality and drawing it out. I makes me feel more confident and proud to be a woman. I am comfortable in my own skin. At times I really enjoy creating different looks and characters.
How did you first get interested in bellydance ?
Wow long story but ,..Born into a family of entertainers. My mother and grandmother were dancers. It came natural. I was dancing since a very young age. I grew up around Burlesque, Vaudeville and Belly Dance Performers. As my parents were on the entertainment circuit in NY. There were many a times Belly dancers baby at me while my parents were on stage. I started taking Belly Dance lessons at 17 with Serena Wilson. By 20 I was performing professionally all through NJ, and NYC . I also started performing Burlesque at 25 as a feature in NYC . Been at them both ever since.
Are there any other creative mediums you work in?
I am also a natural born and professionally trained dancer, Burlesque performer, singer, poetry/song writer and Latin/Arabic percussionist. As well I cook gourmet Indian and European foods(in culinary arts).
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?
I adore retro lingerie, stockings, heels and sexy vinyl wear. Pretty much what ever I feel to wear. I like to experiment with different styles like horror/Punk or Goth looks.
What are your least favorites?
I really do not like ,...BDSM, or Pornographic (which I do not do).
What kind of music do you like?
I have an eclectic taste of music anything as long as it is not country or rap/hip hop. My favorite ....hmmm..Classical, ambient with world beats, Gothic or old rag time jazz. Depends on my mood, Sensual and relaxed or edgy and fierce in a rock mood!!
What do you like to do for fun?
That is a very well rounded question. As I am a very well rounded person. Once again it depends on my mood. I may want to go for a drive and a hike or hangout in a exotic place, dance all night or enjoy a rock concert or go to a art show or museum .I am well read, traveled and multifaceted. From yoga wear to evening wear.
