How did you get started modeling?
Since I was 6 I wanted to model - specifically fashion and runway. Two things ended up getting in the way; my Mom being a single parent and not being able to build me a portfolio or hire and agent, and never hitting a growth spurt and landing at 5'4", a mere two inches shy of what most modeling agencies require. So I gave up! Until I was 22. Then my friend Stephanie Ellen (a gorgeous model and fabulous musician) mentioned Model Mayhem (this didn't exist when I was 6!). I figured at my age and height, making modeling a career was probably never gonna happen, but maybe I could make it a hobby? Around the same time I'd finally got out of my school broke-assness and had the money to start what I'd longed for for just as long - covering my body in ink. I decided I wanted to be an alt model (alternative didn't really exist when I was little either!!); so I pulled together the best photos I could find of myself (which were horrible) and built an MM profile. The metamorphosis took off from there and I haven't looked back on the person I was 4 years ago.
What excites you about modeling?
The opportunity for expression! I'm a Gemini and a gabby goose (obviously LOL) - I love meeting new people whom I have stuff in common with and I habitually wear my heart on my sleeve. Everything about modeling is perfect for a person like me. I can't draw, I can't sculpt, I'm not a skilled photographer and although I went to college for TV Communications, I don't utilize my video camera as often as I should. I can sing and play a few instruments but I can't write music; and although I enjoy acting, I've never been good about leaving my comfort zone. So, for someone who loves to express themselves but can never make up their mind, has a short attention span and isn't discriminatory about their interest - everything about modeling is perfect for me!
Do you come from a background of training in the arts?
Yes! I've tried it all in the search for a way to express the zillion ideas zooming through my head at any given moment. I've dabbled in all kinds of art, music, acting and photography. I tried to make a career in TV (although that went south with the recession), and although it may not be considered an art (I think so), I am a trained Jedi of the needle and thread since I was 3 - if it's considered a needle craft, I know how to do it - this includes making my own clothes. I also have the attention span of a 3 year old - obvious much?
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?
EVERYTHING! Ok, sorry, I'll pick faves, if I have to! Pinup and punk, metal or goth - because these best express who I am. I also love being a zombie - I'm obsessed with zombies.
What are your least favorites?
Fashion! The whole reason I wanted to start modeling to being with! But I've come to know of myself that I'm not built for 'normal' or 'traditional'.
Classic pinup has become a huge phenomena lately, what about it first captured your interest?
The first time I dressed in pinup I looked in the mirror and an indescribable feeling came over me - the feeling that the person looking back at me finally reflected my personality inside. Spunky, brave, funny, creative, unique, strong, independent, intelligent - to me pinup is all of this and more, the epitome of feeling like a woman.
How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?
I'd always liked to be tied up and spanked, but I never looked into it at length. A few years ago I meet a couple awesome ladies who are two of my best friends now - they had both been familiar with fetish long before we met, and as our friendship grew and we broached 'those subjects', I realized that what I liked was a fetish - and that a lot of other fetishes the girls mentioned sounded like something I'd like. Eventually when I found a partner that also had a kinky side to him (and FINALLY a man that was comfortable being rough with me), we both joined Fetlife and started exploring our likes and dislikes together!
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into?
Sure do! Right now the hubby and I are 'in the bedroom' only while we explore more, although we do enjoy making videos and taking pictures! I'm a switch and a kinkster, I'm into bondage (LOVE being hog tied), spanking, being held down and roughed around. I'm also an exhibitionist (as far as photo and video, nothing in public). I'm into threesomes with ladies and hoping one day to try one with another guy and my hubby. We're always doing research though when we hear of something that sounds sexy to see if we might enjoy it!
What is it about Tattoos that intrigues you?
The fact that they are living, moving art. I've always had a huge admiration for art, especially being the exact opposite of an artist myself - I put artists on a pedestal. To be someone's canvas and at the same time express who I am, everything about it makes me obsessed.
Are there any other creative mediums you work in?
To date just my needle crafts - making clothing, accessories, quilts, synthetic dreads (needle felting) and crocheting blankets for animals in shelters.
What kind of music do you like?
5 words - "Death to all but Metal" ;) \m/
What do you like to do for fun?
I love hiking, fishing and camping (backpacking, portaging), going to craft shows and antique shops and hitting up yard sales. I spend lots of my free time with my pets, and my friends are mostly in walking distance so we're constantly going to gigs or just hanging. I also love going to the odd Burning Man comp. in Toronto and raving for 24 hours (like twice a year). Odds are though, if I have a day off and the weather is nice, I'm gonna be out getting purposely lost on a trail somewhere.
