Interview With Nina Sparks
by Cary
How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?
My sadistic tendencies reach back in my big sister days. I would tie my sister up in a playful game of cowboys and Indians and then allow her to clean my room. I have always had someone to pick on and liked it. As I grew old enough to appreciate it, I felt compelled to dress appropriately. My parents are bikers so the leather part was easy. I attended college to get a degree in psychology and sociology and became fascinated in how predictable a human mind can be given certain situations. Coming from a small town, I had constantly been told that I was different. Anything to get the tremble on. The natural high of playing out a scene which drives my creative power is what turns me on the most. For most, it might appear strange, for me....it's home.
And how did you transition from an interest to it being a profession?
I have been playing now for 11 years. I had moved to Los Angeles 6 years ago and was delighted to meet up with some of my own kind. Some knew more than I in certain areas and vise versa.I am not going to let someone build me a home just because they enjoy doing it. I would expect them to have training and a skill. I felt I could benefit from others and so began the process from sub to switch to domme. I had to begin with sub so that I might be able to more connect with my play partners. There is a certain skill we hold which makes it safe. Having a skill that others may not posses makes it a profession.
What can someone seeing you as a Pro Domme for the first time expect?
Every session is different, even when playing with the same partners. You can blame that one on human nature. I may be in a different mood which allows the energy exchange to peak at different times. It is what draws me in time and time again.
What kinds of people book sessions with you?
People who aren't afraid of fulfilling their ultimate fantasies.
What are your specialties?
The usual..whips,canes, chains, sensory deprivation, mind control, humiliation, etc.. I am fascinated with electricity.
What kinds of equipment do you use?
Floggers, single tails, buggy whips, crops, violet wands, PES system, suction devices, canes, pin wheels, spanking horses, St. Andrew's cross, ropes, suspension, bondage beds, plastic wrap, feathers, electric tooth brushes, Tazers, paddles, clamps, clips, restraints, ball gags, masks, blind folds, ear plugs, water, ice, wax, my hands, nails, and mind.
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into?
Of course, dear. All the same as I do with my clients just on a deeper level. When playing in my personal life, there are no true limits to what can happen.
What advice would you have for someone just starting out in the fetish scene?
Research. I would suggest getting experience as a bottom and top so that you might connect with your sweet spots and avoid others. Having a mentor that you respect is always a plus. I was fortunate enough to have Mistress Tina.
Do you think fetish is becoming part of the mainstream culture?
It has always been there. The current generations are becoming more open to BDSM. I have seen small glimpses of scenes in popular TV. Is it shock or envy?
What kind of music do you like?
Music has always sounded out different parts of my life. Like an old friend, it changes drastically to suit my needs.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love attending events with like minds, dancing, skating, surfing, and changing my environment.
