Interview With Nemain Ravenwood by Cary Nemain Ravenwood is an amazing fetish artist, her work really seems to capture the look and feel of latex. How did you get interested in Fetish Art? First I started with Pin up images, I always liked that genre, but then I saw an image with a woman wearing ballet boots and I just thought “Wow! I want to do that too” Then I discovered Latex & corsets for my work, this all started in 2002 as a hobby. Now fetish art is part of my profession.
What is your formal arts background like? I have not had any courses in art, everything is self-taught.
What special considerations and techniques are necessary for your work? I work with a 3D rendering program (Poser 7) and Photoshop, if both collide with my muse then I might come up with a new image. You see, I just need my laptop and some inspiration. What has been your favorite creation? Well, I like all my images, but my duck images are my favourites ;-)
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into? My fetishes are latex, corsets, (gas)masks, high heels etc. and if my time allows it I enjoy transforming my sub into a kinky rubberdoll.
You also model, do you find that your art work and modeling influence each other? Yes, modeling helps me to get a more intense feeling for my work and shows me, that in reality we are bound to gravity ;-)
What excites you about fetish modeling? It is just a hobby for me, so I only do this 2-3 times a year, this makes it special for me.
And of course I like to show myself in Latex.
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in? I love my Torpedo tit suit, but as long the outfit is made of latex & has some sexy shoes I will wear it.
Do you think pinup and fetish are becoming part of the mainstream culture? I think it is “hip” to wear latex leggings or corsets for some celebrities until they find something new, but I do not think they will wear heavy rubber or gasmasks in public, so the fetish scene will remain independent.
What kind of music do you like? I like Muse, Laibach, Killing Joke, Calexico, 80s music, etc.
