Interview M Lazar

by Cary

M Lazar brings her unique beauty and sensibility to the worlds of music and fetish fashion.

Do you come from a background of training in the arts?

Yes I went to a high school for the performing arts in Canada.... kind of like Fame, hehe..music, dancing, writing.. I first stepped on a stage when I was 4 yrs old, and I have been there ever since. It's all I know..

How did you start working with your current band?

My band, or moreover, this project was created from an idea.... something I envisioned and was lucky enough to find the right people to share the vision with me. It's a multimedia project that works on so many different levels.

What music first captured your ear and got you interested in music?

I grew up listening to my father play jazz piano every Sunday in our den. My brother played the trumpet. My grandfather the violin. Music was always in our family. I loved Rock, Punk, Metal and Pop. Anything that made my soul groove. My first live show was Dillinger Escape Plan, many years and singers ago. Heh. After i saw them, I knew what i wanted to do.

What kind of music do you like?

I sing in a band that is metal/little industrial/ with pop hooks.... so I cover a lot of bases in music ;)

How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?

I've always been attracted to the culture from a fashion perspective... intermixing pieces from that scene with my wardrobe gave me a unique style.

What excites you about fetish modeling?

The fashion.... corsets, latex pieces, etc... anything that binds the body is rather hot I'd say.

What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?

I love corsets... again the binding thing.. hehe

What are your least favorites?

I like things that are different and unique in fashion... but not too over the top or ridiculous. It must have taste.

What do you like to do for fun?

I am always writing/doing music or modeling ..... but when i have some down time, I love hang with friends or read.... I am an avid reader.

Do you think that pinup and fetish are becoming part of the mainstream culture?

Yes .... at least aspects of them ... and indeed they have... many designers steal from that culture to create their designs... you can see it more in the Haute couture lines like Christian Dior.
