Interview With Mistress Genevieve by Cary Aside from being a hot Pro Domme, Mistress Genevieve is a thoughtful person who offers some real insight in this interview. How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM? I can't really recall a time when I wasn't into it. I know there was a time that I didn't know the terminology, but I can't even remember when I became conscious of the phrases "fetish" and "s&m". The interest was always there though. Maybe it was the influence of Mtv as a child of the 80's. Maybe there was some influence from the environment I grew up in, with a young artist as a mother. I know that a large bit of my obsession with corsets was largely to blame on watching "Little House on the Prairie" a lot when at My grand parents. Maybe I was born this way. I think some of us are.
And how did you transition from an interest to it being a profession? It seemed to just happen. I already had slaves and toys when I accidentally found myself in My first session. I came from a history in live theater and have a very sexual nature, so when I left home I thought dancing was only logical. I always had fetishy clothes and I usually had at least a few pieces of gear in My bag and was really good at perverting vanilla items to be used in scene. At the time I had to know how to, since I had no toy budget, and didn't know where to buy more unique, quality toys; unlike now. I was always intimidating a lot of the clients with My dress, My way of dancing, and they were especially frightened by My openness and pride in My lifestyle a and perverse appetites. At the same time, I seemed to attract just as many, for at the same reasons. I actually had been doing sessions for almost 3 years before I even acknowledged Myself as a Dominatrix. It was never something I sought out, but when I finally faced who and what I was as a profession, not just a lifestyle, I decided to actually run with it.
What can someone seeing you as a Pro Domme for the first time expect? Well, I can answer the question, but not in a way that would satisfy the type of person who might ask such a thing. You can only expect that I will respect boundaries (yet push them). I will not do a scene that I know is unsafe. I will not play a scene that I know I won't enjoy... even if what it is I enjoy is turning "fetish exploration" into "fetish exploitation". Using it as a bargaining chip and motivator to get you to work harder to please Me and My wicked fantasies. Otherwise, I don't use formula some people still be inexperienced novices even after playing for 20 years... and I have seen some subs dive right into very advanced play as if they had been playing their whole life. I read each person individually, and try to play with them at a pace that not TOO much for them. Don't get me wrong. I don't baby them either. I respect their limits... but not with out pushing them. ? What kinds of people book sessions with you? All types. That's kind of like asking what type of men read playboy.
What are your specialties? Depends when you ask as to what I'm into. If I kept playing in the same gear, with little to no variety, I would have never lasted the first 3 years, much less make it the last 15 years like, I have. I am as divers as I am perverse. I tend to get into anything invasive... both mentally invasive or physically invasive. I love medical scenes, all types of humiliation, all types of restraint, sensory deprivation, sensory overload, exploring light sensations, administering unique, intense tortures and administering harsh discipline,
Like any woman, I love being pampered and spoiled
What kinds of equipment do you use? Just about everything, and then some. I strive to have a tool for every job, and just like a woman... I want one of everything, in every style, every material, and every color. I have some excessively large number of paddles, canes, crops, floggers, whips, etc. I have a massive collection of various types of leather restraints and bondage gear, though it is rare that I use any of them. (I am a rope bondage fiend, as if you couldn't tell by the huge tattoo on My right bicep.) I have an ungodly number of latex and silicon sex toys. My collection of e-stim toys is vast. There are just too many toys to name. I have even more equipment and gear still in storage in New Orleans; not just the stuff I have in My current dungeon, in Los Angeles.
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into? Yes, but I don't date submissives. I will date fetishists and masochists, but even then it's rare that I play with them. Though, if and when I do play with them it isn't power exchange, it's kink... meaning, there is sometimes a DOer, and a DOee, but no one is the dominant or the submissive. Sometimes it's what I call a "tiger fight" or doing kinky things to each other simultaneously. When I play in My personal life I usually play with kinky friends, or personal slaves.
What advice would you have for someone just staring out in the fetish scene? Don't take anyone's word for what fetish/BDSM is supposed to be and fetish/BDSM isn't supposed to be. As long as the scene is safe, sane and consensual and a connection is made and mutual enjoyed by the 2 or more parties involved, it's all good. Lots of people live in this lifestyle and I guarantee they are all just as genuinely fetish as the next, and under close inspection they will all differ... and there will be something that each does in their lifestyle that conflicts with the stereotype of what bdsm/fetish is and isn't. If you waste too much time on such superficial B.S., it will prevent yo from experiencing your scenes to their fullest potential.
Do you think fetish is becoming part of the mainstream culture? It always has been! Its just only tolerated in the mainstream as cheeky humor and satire, or as a way to give a horror or crime shows some sexual overtones... sex sells.
What kind of music do you like? All types. I listen to opera, classical, baroque, lounge, swing, jazz, classic country, outlaw country, southern blues, heavy metal, punk, show tunes, ambient, new wave, industrial, and even some hip-hop. Music has been classified into an infinite number of styles, and there is something enjoyable to be found in each genre if you give yourself a chance to be exposed to enough of it.
