Metal Mish is one of the coolest and most talented people on Earth!

What music first captured your ear and got you interested in music?

you asked for it... here comes the essay :-P

I seemed to have a strange fascination with motorcycles, big trucks, shotguns, creating things, and music since I was extremely young.

Being artistically inclined, it is no surprise that music pleases me in such a life impacting way.

When I was probably 5ish my older cousins introduced me to Iron Maiden AND I LOVED IT!!!!!! It was the vocals and guitars that captured me immediately. I was into all the Judas Priest, King Diamond, Iron Maiden type bands till I found a Dimmu Borgir cd in a second hand shop in like 4th or 5th grade (about 1995). That threw me straight into a musical epiphany! :-D I was completely obsessed and researched all the Scandinavian black metal bands I could. In that I came across some industrial and emb later on... I <3'd that too :-) yay Virtual Embrace and Sea Bound :-)

What is it about Metal in particular that you like so much?

Currently I mostly enjoy the (I have no idea what you would call it, but I am guessing) harmonic vocals in particular black metal songs. I don’t even know how to describe it, but Borknagar was the first I noticed. Some of the recent Dimmu albums do it as well.

What is the experience of appearing at events like?

I guess the experience would vary from person to person, depending on how you view the scene.

Being back stage at concerts is a blast. Because I am part of the radio station I don’t get hassled and party with the boys till all hours of the morning.

I personally do not view the band members as anything more than some guys that just so happen to play some instruments..... so it is much easier to gain the respect of everyone back there. ****The reaction I get when chilling with friends and a member of their favorite band calls me out of the blue is fucking hilarious! **** So I would say the joy of appearing at concerts and stuff is much more than simply the event itself. :-P

I've seen quite a few interviewers go “gaga" over the bands...... it usually ends in a quick shove off after the interview is over. no parties for them :-x

Being recognized as someone important in the scene when out in the crowd is a bit of a rush too :-) though I do my damn best not to let it go to my head. Lol

How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?

I have always had a thing for sweet guys that were overpowering.

I also have a very intense personality and seem to gravitate towards things that are on the extreme side from the norm. I never really go to deep into the extreme in any aspect of my life, but definitely way more than norm.

That and my obsession with corsets and cinchers I guess were my natural openers to many other things.

Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into?

I don’t want to get to into it, not as a degree of "shyness", but as a level of modesty :-P... though what I will say is that I like extreme forcefulness and a bit of a struggle *sometimes*

Although I love looking at more extreme fetish modeling, I have not taken any pictures of that nature. I know it saddens many of my (I hate using this word, but I must in this case) fans, but I am extremely picky with how revealing I am and the content in which I appear. One of my day jobs involves working with school districts teaching young children and I would definitely not want an uptight parent on my hands…. Especially in one of the catholic schools I work in :-x

Spandex with a cincher and big heals! a hands down favorite for me.

I also have a love for strappy stuff and big platforms / tall wedges.

To each their own, but I find the whole role playing as "characters" of something, like Star Wars or anything even remotely like that, to be absolutely ridiculous... I’m sorry, but if someone suggested that to me I would never be turned on by them again.......

Do you think pinup and fetish are becoming part of the mainstream culture?

What is mainstream anyway????? “mainstream” is whatever the fuck we make it and yes i have noticed an increase in fetish type modeling. it has always been there, but recently the scene for it seems, to me, to be viewed with more acceptance. Even major fashion lines are starting to bring in denim waist cinchers and bodices. (it's a start) haha

What do you like to do for fun?

WELL……….

Sometimes I go out clubbing or to concerts. Dancing and thrashing out are my #1 favorite things to do.

I enjoy creating art… ceramics is my favorite, but I love everything from coloring a care bear coloring book to painting murals of mutilated corpses

Running around with friends in parking lots swinging gigantic battle axes and broadswords while blasting epic metal like ManOWar is always a good time haha

I work ALOT…. and yes, I LOVE MY JOBS… I consider them fun!
