Interview With Latex Lilly

by Cary

Latex Lilly is a fetish model, event promoter and fixture on the New York and Massachusetts scenes. She really gives us a look at her life and feelings in this thoughtful interview.

How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?

I have been interested in fetish/BDSM since as long as I can remember. It did not begin as a "High School thing" or as something that someone introduced me to... I had inklings of it as a child. I remember being 6 years old and in Catholic school and the other girls were playing a game called "Tie-Up Tag" where the girls who were tagged would get Tied Up (nothing hardcore... just have their sweaters tied around their arms as a suggestion of being tied up). I remember that I would run the fastest from the other girls in tag because it was too exciting a concept to me... I could not understand why it was SO incredibly exciting were I to get caught and tied up... and of course this meant that I could not be captured or they would find out my secret.

What is it about latex in particular that you like?

Latex is a womb-like and naughty fabric. It is like walking masterbation. One of the things many people don't know is that I am all lubed up in my garment... so between flesh and rubber I am slippery... it is almost my little secret. Besides the wonderful tightness of the garments it also looks pretty fabulous and makes me feel like a pervy super hero.

How did you come to create the Miss Gothic Massachusetts Pageant?

I just thought the idea of it was pretty fun. I had heard of other states doing one... like Miss Gothic New York and I thought I would give it a try. So I went to the owner of Manray (the old club I used to work with) and I proposed doing a night.

What unique challenges do you face putting on the pageant?

Well besides the fact that I had never run an event before in my entire life? EVERYTHING was unique to me. Finding contestants, finding sponsors, finding judges, finding press, getting a website created, getting fliers designed and made... just about the only thing I knew how to do in advance was to promote for the event using fliers. If only people knew the ulcers I almost got creating the pageant.

Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into?

I do love fetishism/BDSM play in my personal life very much. The current person I am dating surprised me a bit by being very much interested in incorporating my latex into the bedroom. Most of the time I have found that people see it like clunky lingerie that needs to be removed after the 1st ten minutes. As for the other BDSM play that we bring into the bedroom... that starts to get a little more private.

In the past I have always done my best to bring in bondage, role play and some amount of sadism and masochism into my life. I am not a huge pain person... nor do I feel pleasure causing GREAT discomfort in my sexual partners. I enjoy the pain aspect as part of role play and so I enjoy the idea of it more than the actual sensation of it. I am also not a professional dominatrix, though most people assume that I am because I dress in what many would consider a very dominant way. I am a switch in the bedroom and I prefer to be sexual with other switches. I am a lifestyle fetishist. One day I woke up and just decided that fetish would be a very important part of my life. I think I must have been about 15 when I made that decision... I had never even kissed a boy. I just came out of the "fetish closet" at a very early age.

You describe yourself as an "adventure whore", what was your most recent adventure?

I'm always having a lot of little adventures and sometimes my life is highlighted with much larger ones. For instance in early September I went to Montreal for Montreal Fetish Weekend which counts as a medium adventure. I go every year so it is hardly a new experience for me. For Halloween I will be going to New Orleans which counts as another adventure. Doing events and travelling between 2 cites on a monthly basis also counts as constant mini-adventuring. I often like to walk a new way home... a new 3.5 mile walk home. Variation and newness are always part of my life and so I get bored easily with routine. My last fun adventure was doing a photoshoot in bright purple latex on the Lower East Side in Manhattan in broad daylight. The streets of the Lower East Side are hardly desolate and so the photographer and I got tons of attention.

So I less described my last adventure and just described why I am an adventure whore. If I can help it I'll always be travelling, in a movie, doing a photoshoot, creating new events and performing for a fetish party...I know I missed a few things too...such is the way of my life.

You spend time in Massachusetts and New York, how do the two scenes compare?

The 2 scenes have actually become more alike in many ways. When we once had larger clubs (like Downtime and Manray) we now have many events in much smaller venues. Lots more people are putting their hands into the creation of events. While Boston has fetish events on Fridays/Saturdays New York has recently seemed to only be able to have them on Sundays... which makes it very difficult to attend considering many people into BDSM have day jobs (including myself).

What do you like to do for fun?

I love traveling to a new scene in a new city. I like finding a new restaurant. I like meeting new people I have things in common with and forming new friendships... these are things that sustain me in life and I find very fun.

Besides that, I am an excellent cook and find great enjoyment in cooking for other people.

These are the more domestic fun things... my favorite fun thing to do is to go someplace totally new... and of course to try out new latex with someone I find terribly sexy.
