Interview With Kindra Ravenmoon

by Cary

The Fantastic Kindra Ravenmoon returns for a second interview!

This is your second appearance in Fixe Magazine, what was the reaction the first time?

Thank you for having me back.

I had such a positive reaction and high interest in my work from my first appearance with you that I really hope to get the same wonderful response this second time around.

Classic pinup has become a huge phenomena lately, what about it first captured your interest?

Even though I don't do the stereotyped "classic" pinup,it has influenced a lot of my creativity and will continue to be an inspiration, after all I guess that it is this influence mixed in with my own style which has created me a subtitle known to some as "The Satanic Vampyre PinUp Girl".

Ever since I was a little girl pinups have caught my attention,I found them to be so mysterious, glamorous and beautiful and I find that there always will be a magic surrounding the classic pinup that only a chosen few can truly capture.

You're someone who could obviously model in a number of other mediums, have you ever?

I try not to stereotype myself into one plain category. I am a very diverse person and this comes across in my work. I am naturally of a dark nature and character so of course will always be the "Dark Arts" model and the dark side will always be in whatever I do but this doesn't mean that I am frightened of the light so to speak. With modeling I have experience in and continue to grow within the realms of classy dark erotica and classic fetish styles also with vampire, gothic, boudoir, victorian, fantasy in general, the macarbre and horror/gore,alternative fashion, art & parts, portrait, makeup,,spokes and promo model, band merchandise, film noir and anything that is strange-unusual and different. It is always fun to mix both light and dark for example to have the worlds of fashion collide with dark erotic macabre and shot in a totally unfitting environment.

And what keeps you coming back to fetish modeling?

The fun,creativity and fashion

Are there any aspects of fetish modeling you don't enjoy?

As an ex-domme performer and Mistress(I have out grown this as part of my lifestyle on a professional level)and still having this as part of my natural character I am not interested in any hardcore bondage shoots-I refuse to be tided up,gagged, will not use any type of mouth restrains or not be sub to anyone in a shoot because the situation makes me feel uncomfortable and claustrophobic. I can understand the role of the sub and the psychology behind it and have been there( because in order to be a great Mistress you first must be in the shoes of the sub to know exactly where your true place is,your limits and how to handle those who will eventually be in your control),it is not the place for me and well even though I never tried those mouth pieces I do know that I would hate them even more than the dentist haha.

Do you think fetishism and sex and intrinsically connected, or can they be separate?

Unfortunately the internet and media has lumped them both together when this is not always the case. I find it especially sad that the term fetish now goes hand in hand with porn as in latex/pvc/leather wearing individuals masturbating and fucking each other when actually fetishism does not always(rarely) involve penetration and even though they can be similar in some cases fetishism is more on an emotional level with many psychological reasons behind it other than just getting off.

Fetishism can be linked with sex in the sense that even if there is no penetration and in some cases no nudity what so ever ,the one with the fetish in question still gets an emotional and sexual gratification from the "Experience".Sometimes it is just an orgasm of the mind but it is just as fulfilling to that person as great "vanilla" sex would be to another.

What advice would you give to someone who is new to the scene?

Please for the sake of your safety, art and sanity do not do anything that you feel uncomfortable with or will eventually regret and don't get into fetish modeling or anything in the world of fetishism without getting familiar with the scene first and what you are getting into. Know your limits and don't let anyone force you to go beyond what you feel is right for you. Do not do things just to get a lot of attention because you might just end up with a lot of regrets, hurt and it may not get you to where you originally wished to be. For example a lot of girls get into fetish modeling for the attention and in a lot of cases if doing more "adult" style for the money to find that when they try to do more commercial modeling or other genres that no body in the business takes them seriously and many will not wish to work with them,so most of these girls end up tight cast and many start to regret a lot of what they have exposed of themselves online.

Make sure that you are comfortable with what you put online and if your image is exactly how you wish to present yourself cause once it is out there is no taking it back, that image of you is open to the eyes of the world and it is the only way the majority will know you ,so think about it and hey if you are 100% with whatever you are doing then go for it and don't let anyone hold you back!

Are there any other creative mediums you work in?

Besides modeling I am a music journalist, musician, independent horror film actress and writer.

Have acted in several independent horror films and shorts and have appeared in documentaries based on witchcraft ,the occult and the paranormal.
