Interview With Ethel by Cary Ethel isn't a fetish person, but her modeling work is so interesting and fun I had to share her with you! :) How did you get started modeling? I started when I was about 20, I wanted some nice photos taken of me and when I got them back a few of my friends who saw the images asked me if I'd ever thought about modeling alternative clothing and stuff. I actually hadn't ever considered it as I wasn't aware there was an alternative modeling industry. Anyway I sent off some photos to a rock clothing company,they liked me and it all went from there! Do you prefer the runway or being photographed? I enjoy both, runway is always a bit more unnerving as I always worry I'll fall on my face in front of everyone!
Do you come from a background of training in the arts? I've always been heavily involved in performing arts since I was a child, I guess my ability to get into character and take on a role has really helped me when I've been on a shoot.
What excites you about modeling?
Just when those images come back edited ready for the world to see and you know you gave it your all! If I've done a particularly creative picture then I love it when other people understand it and see what I'm trying to express.
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in? I like everything from full on theatrical costumes to strange medical attire to ripped up glam punk threads to cutesy dresses.
What are your least favorites? I've done a bit of underwear modeling just to see if it was something I'd be comfortable with and to be honest I'm my own worst critic, I have a few body issues-everyone does but when that starts to make you feel uncomfortable and unfocused whilst your shooting then it's not worth doing.
Are there any other creative mediums you work in? I'm actually a HUGE fan of powerfully choreographed dance routines. Dancing and watching people dance really inspires me. I also find inspiration in strange dreams that I have and in really really atmospheric weather.
What kind of music do you like? I'm a huge fan of female fronted bands such as My Ruin, Walls of Jericho, Jack off Jill, L7, Queen Adreena etc, I'm also a fan of heavy metal-new or old-old is usually better :), I also like 80's pop music-in fact I'm a bit of an 80's nerd. I'm really into 80's hair metal bands right now and Glam Rock, I think I've found my niche in life there!
What do you like to do for fun? Usually partying hard. I have an amazing group of friends and a very supportive boyfriend who I adore, I love going out with my gang and just having new and exciting adventures! I also really enjoy me time-vegging out in my pjs with a comedy or horror dvd on, curled up in my bed with a massive sandwich!
