Interview With Engel Schrei by Cary Engel Schrei is a classic beauty and versatile Fetish Model. How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM? When I began modeling, I was living in an area that consisted mainly of "alternative" photographers/models. As such, I began to meet, learn of, and interact with those in the active fetish/BDSM lifestyles & communities. The more I learned, the more I liked, and here I am now. I am being mentored in BDSM by a wonderfully talented photographer/rigger/Dom (DonSir; link included at bottom), and am reading, trying things, and learning of a whole amazing and fulfilling world of experiences.
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into? I do. I very much enjoy rope (hemp being a favorite), fetish heels, PVC clothing (as made by Artifice Clothing), tattoos, and much more. I absolutely adore the touch and smell of leather, whether on myself or someone else. I enjoy heavy impact play, knife play, fire play, and lots of other things. Are there any fetishes that you don't find appealing? I have found several fetishes and philias that aren't to my liking, but so many more that are. To make a list of either would take quite a while. I prefer to simply try things that interest me, avoid the ones that don't, and leave others to their vices and pleasures. I do have a very serious dislike and disapproval for Pedophilia, as well as any and all other forms of child abuse.
What excites you about fetish modeling? I adore the dynamic and energy of people in the fetish/BDSM lifestyles. The events are mindblowing and amazing. I get so much inspiration from the creativity and individuality of so many wonderful people. I very much love attending whatever events I can, be it FetishCon, ShibariCon, DomCon, etc. I hope to also be able to meet and interact more with those in the GLBT fetish/BDSM communities, and greatly encourage others to also welcome these other communities. Whatever the kink, we're still all kinksters. Get kinky together.
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in? As I mentioned before, I very much enjoy PVC and leather. I'm a big fan of Artifice Clothing, as well as Antispetic Fashions. I've not yet modeled in latex, but am looking to expand and make some network connections in that area.
What are your least favorites? I'm not sure I have a least favorite. I'm just as comfortable posing nude as I am in jeans, leather, PVC, or lace. I adore modeling, in all forms, and do my best to make the most of every shoot.
Do you think pinup and fetish are becoming part of the mainstream culture? Of course. Haute Couture fashion, as well as the more mainstream high end fashion & commercial fashion are all integrating fetish/pinup themes into the "it thing". Rockabilly has never been bigger. I believe Dita Von Teese is putting out a lingere line inspired by her love for the retro/pinup. I've seen metal corset belts in Vogue, and shackles and chains walk down the runway. It goes "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em".. well.. despite the enjoyable beatings the fetish/BDSM community has oft received, we're still here. The rest of the world is just going to have to be happy being assimilated.
What kind of music do you like? I'm actually a classic rock girl. I do enjoy most forms of rock/metal, and I've even been known to kick on the country on occasion.. but Daddy raised me on Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, Def Leppard, and the like. I'm also a fan of the 80s/early 90s age, much to the disappointment of many I'm sure, lol. I listen to classical music, opera, and musicals when the mood strikes me, but I do my best to refrain from belting out showtunes in public areas.
What do you like to do for fun? Read. I adore reading. The only type of book I don't read are the sappy romance novels. My favorite genres are sci-fi/fantasy.. Piers Anthony, Anne McAffery, Laurell K Hamilton.. I've conquered the Harry Potter books on a number of occasions, as well as Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game series. I'm also a pretty hefty cartoon addict. Old discontinued Looney Tunes, Pink Panther, etc. My favorite is Felix the Cat. I have hours and hours of cartoons and cartoon movies. I also enjoy writing, reading, modeling (obviously), and coloring/painting. I adore traveling, and do as much of it as possible. I spend WAY too much time on my computer, and far more then I should swapping text messages with people. I also enjoy a good beating and rope inversion whenever I can.
