Interview With Cytre by Cary Cytre: Model, Musician and all around fascinating person. How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM? I can't really pinpoint exactly what turned me on to it. I remember I always had fantasies about being tied up and such, way before I even knew anything about BDSM. And I always found corsets, leather and vinyl to be extremely sexy. But most of my interest just came from experimenting with different things that I thought might make things interesting. And it has stayed with me and grown to be part of who I am. It's always been part of who I am, it's just now I've allowed it to be more integrated into my life.
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what are you into? I do enjoy it, it keeps things exciting. I've always been a big fan of bondage. There's just something about being tied up that adds a bit of vulnerability, yet excitement in not having control of the situation. Of course it's always in a controlled environment. And with that goes some Dom/sub interest. I tend to be enjoy being told what to do but in contrast there are times when I prefer to be more dominant. There's not a whole lot that doesn't interest me or that I wouldn't try. I also have a huge boot fetish! So dressing up, submission, spanking, light pain, ad bondage are some of my favorite activities.
Are there any fetishes that you don't find appealing? The whole "Furry" fetish is something I just don't get. That one does absolutely nothing for me.
What excites you about fetish modeling? With modeling in general I love being able to get dressed up all sexy and have my picture taken. I just love being in front of the camera. With fetish modeling I get to wear outfits that I normally couldn't wear out to say the grocery store, though I have walked into a store wearing a leather corset. Living in a small town, that looks kind of odd to most people. Fetish modeling also gives me the opportunity to play out a role and bring out some of that attitude in me.
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in? I love corsets and boots. I LOVE my boots. Anytime I can wear them I take advantage of. Leather or vinyl outfits are probably my favorite. It goes along with my personal style and I love the look of it.
What are your least favorites? I don't like wearing masks. I like blindfolds but full masks just are a little awkward for me to wear. Other than that, I haven't really come across anything I didn't like wearing.
Do you think pinup and fetish are becoming part of the mainstream culture? It seems pin-up is. I think in part with some of the pop culture icons who have been bringing back the retro look, the pin-up style is also becoming more popular in general. Fetish on the other hand I don't see as becoming mainstream. It's still too taboo for most people to even talk about. I know I've been careful about who I say what to, because you never know how people are going to react. It's tough to say to someone you're dating "Hey, I like being tied up," or whatever your fetish may be. Unless they've mentioned something that might clue me in to if they're into it or not, I wont say anything at first.
What kind of music do you like? I'm a total metalhead. Any kind, Death, Black, Industrial, Goth... I always love finding new bands with an original sound as well. A few of my favorites are Sepultura, Pantera, Type O Negative, DevilDriver, Arch Enemy, Dope... but that's just the beginning.
What do you like to do for fun? I play bass and sing in a band, which we are working on recording our first album. I also enjoy being creative through outlets such as drawing, photography, graphic and web design. Otherwise, I just like going out to shows, hanging out and having a few drinks.
