Interview With Arwen
by Cary
How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?
I’ve always been into sexual submission and rough play in the bedroom, but living in podunk towns and moving constantly for several years made it difficult to meet people and explore things further. It’s only since I started modeling that I’ve been able to delve into this world a bit more. I did meet someone last year who could offer exploration and experiences, but in the end I was simply not attracted to him and so could never get fully comfortable when we played. It’s not easy meeting open-minded, adventurous individuals that you share a mutual feeling with. Or maybe I’m just too damn picky.
Do you enjoy fetishism/BDSM play in your personal life, and if so what
are you into?
I’m definitely more of a submissive when it comes to sex. I don’t necessarily identify as a switch because I can only be the dominant with someone I feel really comfortable with. I enjoy bondage, spanking, and body worship. I’m into the sensual tactile sensations of rubber, fur, metal, etc. I’m not a pain slut, but I do like it a bit rough. I’ve also explored electroplay, but there’s some I can’t do because the wrong parts of my body react. I’m wired funny, apparently.
Are there any fetishes that you don't find appealing?
There’s a fetish for practically everything, so of course there will be some I’m not into. I don’t really like wet and messy. I don’t even like getting food on my hands when I eat. I’m also not into anything that involves bodily fluids besides the usual cum and saliva and maybe a little blood, or anything that hurts animals. We hurt them enough by eating and wearing them. I enjoy foot worship, but I’m way too ticklish for toe sucking. Try that and you may lose your teeth. But this doesn’t mean I wouldn’t explore certain fetishes for purposes of creating artistic photos or fun videos. I’m not into the balloon fetish, but I sure had fun doing a shoot featuring it.
What excites you about fetish modeling?
I don’t consider myself just a fetish model. I like modeling whatever interests me creatively, whether it’s fetish, pinup, artistic nudes, etc. Besides meeting lots of interesting people, what I enjoy most is the artistry and the opportunity to create a fantasy. I model more for myself than for other people. I’m a pretty humble person, so the idea of having fans or people who want to look at photos of me or interview me, even referring to myself as a model, is very foreign to me. I enjoy creating a story or a character, pretending I’m someone else someplace else, even for just a little while. I look at the photos afterwards and think “Wow. That’s me.” I’m such a dork, lol.
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?
I really like corsets. I’m petite with A LOT of tits and ass, so when I wear a corset it’s like KA-POW! I’d like to model more latex, but it didn’t take me long to discover that most latex designers do not prefer my body type. I also like heels because they make my legs look long and shapely. I’m such a shorty, lol. Since I don’t do just fetish modeling, I’m really into trying out all kinds of looks. I’m hoping to do more cyber and steampunk in the near future and I love pinup and burlesque. I’d also like to work with alternative fashion designers.
What are your least favorites?
I rarely model in mundane street clothes. There’s no fantasy attached to it.
Do you think pinup and fetish are becoming part of the mainstream culture?
I think fetish fashion is becoming more mainstream. And certainly some fetishes are more accepted than others, but I don’t think fetish will ever become widely accepted. The world isn’t open-minded enough. There will always be those that judge, always be those that will find something unacceptable. But who wants it to become mainstream anyway? The taboo is part of the fun.
Pinup is certainly more mainstream. That style is pretty tame by today’s standards. The famous starlets of yesteryear have done pinup. Celebrities today are doing it. The late-great Bettie Page, queen of pinup, is one of the most influential models ever.
What kind of music do you like?
I enjoy goth, darkwave, ethereal, EBM, industrial, etc. I have a strong preference for female artists. They’re voices carry me away, whether they sound like a chorus of angels or screaming banshees. I’d like to explore more deathrock, psychobilly, horror punk, etc.
What do you like to do for fun?
Did I mention that I’m an uber-dork? I like goofing off with my friends at goth/industrial clubs and I love going to the movies. I’ll see practically anything. I read ginormous novels that take me months to finish. I practically live on the Bravo network: Project Runway, Top Chef, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, holla. I’m hoping to travel to more goth and fetish events this year and continue exploring my creative side beyond modeling, perhaps some kind of performance art.
