Interview With Amy Blackburn

Yes, women can be beautiful AND funny! Amy Blackburn is a Comedian in the UK and does some Fetishy modeling too. Are you as big a fan as I am yet?

How did you get interested in comedy?

I've always been interested in comedy ever since I was knee high to a grass hopper. I wasn't the prettiest child and would make a fool out of myself to make people laugh to get me out of situations I didn't want to be in.

When I was at college I did a course run by a lovely lady called Jill Edwards who son became known to me as Comedy Mum and she affectionately called me Trollop at the Komedia in Brighton and learnt how to write properly in set up punch and get the confidence to go up there and actually do it.

Do you prefer to perform sketches or stand up?

Sketches every time. You get to hide behind costumes and wigs and don't have to go up there alone. Plus you get to play around a bit. I do lots of sketches with Release the hounds and it's great fun to perform as I do it with a good friend of mine called Daniel Beales. We do all sorts from Cock and balls, which is Leeds most famous medium and his unglamorous assistant to Fiona Magonnigal who is an air hostess on a budget airline.

The stereotype is that people who are funny aren't attractive and vise versa, how did you manage to be both?

I did a swan type move and had to be slightly funny or get my head kicked in! I had train tracks with a different colour elastic band on everyone apart from the front two that were black making me look toothless, long scraggly hair always in a pony tail displaying my ears that were donated by dumbo (luckily I grew into them) and was so skinny and short I made Posh Spice look like Dawn French.

How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?

I didn't realize I was!

I do the odd fetish shoot as boys like that kind of thing and I like boys so think it's only fair to give something back while I'm still young and my tits haven't hit the floor.

What's BDSM? Isn't it a driving school?

What excites you about fetish modeling?

I like doing fetish because its a bit different from what everyone is doing. I hate the typical Nuts shoot up against a white background smiling wearing the most hideous underwear known to mankind. I like doing shoots that are fun to do and are a bit of a laugh. I hate these models that take themselves seriously and don't have any fun with it. If you're not enjoying yourself on the shoot people won't enjoy wanking I mean looking over them later!

What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?

Giant panda suits I think they really show off my softer side.

I like all sorts! My fave is the silver sequin bikini, although it does go up my bum a bit.

What are your least favorites?

Thongs...gag..gag...gag! I'm sorry but no. They are horrible things hence why only weird men wear them if they were comfy then sexy men would also wear them.

Do you think pinup and fetish are becoming part of the mainstream culture?

Yes, they are a bit, but British people in general are a bit prudish to most things and I quite like that. I like people to look at my photos and say gosh that's rather racey, Jolly good show old chap! Not yeah yeah seen it all before. People like Dita Von Teese are bringing the whole world of pin up and Burlesque more into the mainstream, but I don't think it will get any bigger than it is though. I like the fact it's slightly seedy and underground, I don't like doing things that are normal, normal is a bit boring in my eyes.

What upcoming projects are you working on?

I'm doing some sketches with Alex Zane for comedydemon.com which is always fun. I've also got a website that will have lots of pictures and videos of me being a bit racy that will go live in Jan. www.amyblackburnonline.com. And of course Release the Hounds sketches and some other bits and pieces too so all very exciting!

What kind of music do you like?

I'm a rock chick at heart but love all sorts of stuff from AC/DC, Guns N Roses, The Postal Service, City and Colour, Kings of Leon, Dolly Parton, everyone should love Dolly! Lots and lots, we could be here a while. Go look on my myspace I sat and wrote a list because it was more exciting then watching Richard and Judy.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love going to watch live music and comedy, going out with friends, I probably spend a little more time in the pub then I should do. I try and do something ever day that either scares me or excites me. I have to carry a change of pants everywhere.
